Blogs are able to be used by almost all ages to express thoughts, feelings, and even ideas. Teachers also use these for various reasons. They can help students express themselves or provide another way of communicating for teachers.
On education.com I found an article on a Mr. John Pearson. He is a third grade teacher from Dallas, Texas who uses blogs. He explains in his blogs about teaching and how it has effected him in his every day life. He mentions reactions children have to things and what to expect in the classroom. This is one way to use blogs.
Another blog I came across is from a teacher/ student in California asking for help with her class. This blog site on teacherlingo.com is a place where many teachers come and inquire for help. This particular teacher needs a survey answered. Blogs are where people can reach out for help and give help in return.
These are only a couple of ways to use blogs. It can be used in anyway that requires communication and assignments can even be given on blogs. Blogs are used throughout the world everyday for many different things!

The FILM/week4
I found the film to be incredibly interesting. It was amazing to see how much the computer effects our lives everyday. It only took four years for the computer to spread, while it took the television more then ten. People can keep in contact with others through the internet even when the other person is across the globe. Information available on the internet keeps multiplying every year.
Almost everyone owns a computer. Many four years olds know how to use one. The computer is an extreme part of the world and is used for just about everything. Also from this video, it appears that people's work ethic has declined in the US. Many people will have more than ten jobs in their life before age thirty eight. Does technology such as the internet cause such changes in people? Does it cause them to become more lazy? Maybe.

ACCESS etc./week3
The ACCESS website, which is short for the Alabama Connecting Classroom, Educators and Students Statewide site, provides students with good quality course through technology. It also helps people find high-standard teachers. This website contains ways to improve grade standards, course options, and student involvement. It has a mission to give students and teachers a better way to learn and teach.
ACCESS wants to give better technology to all schools in need. It provides an option for students to experience the computer like never before. Not only does it provide wonderful courses, it also contains a way for schedules to be made, awards to be given, and new aquanitances produced. ACCESS is an excellent site for all students and teachers to visit for a better understanding of how advanced placement can be done online.
Students can feel more important and developed through this site. Although their school mite not offer a certain course, this site probably does offer it. No student will be left behind, or will feel like they are slacking.
Teachers who are able to do so, can also have access to ACCESS and provide the necessary lessons for these students. Lectures and notes are easily given from this site. ACCESS is a great way for improvement!

ALEX etc./week2
ALEX, also known as Alabama Learning Exchange is a magnificent site for teachers to visit. It explains many teaching options and study skills. Through ALEX, teachers are able to look at each subject and grade level. By doing so, they can find ways to improve their classroom and teaching methods.
For example, clicking on course of study and then mathematics, one can further choose which grade level and proceed to read certain math techniques. From this page, a teacher can receive ideas of how to explain math to a young child. Using pictures, stories, or colors are just some of the options.
Furthermore, lesson plans are also provided and helpful books are also listed. Options to select certain schools are also helpful on the ALEX site. Using this site would increase teacher awareness and understanding of the subject they teach. It contains various hints for good teaching and explains each lesson plan thoroughly.
Another good thing about ALEX is that it gives other sites to visit. One might want other opinions of lesson plans, teaching, etc. and ALEX offers that. It is a very good tool for teachers to use while in the classroom and outside of it. From this site teachers can also learn about special education and other forms of teaching.

About Catherine :)/week1
Hello!
My name is Catherine Bullock. I went to McGill Toolen High School and I am currently a Junior at South Alabama. I am from Mobile, but for my first two years of college I attended Southern Miss. At Southern I was in a Sorority called Alpha Delta Pi. I had a great time at Southern Miss, but I am glad that I made the choice to return home. My major is Elementary Education, and I'm sticking with this one! I've changed my major from Nutritionist, to Graphic Design, and now Teaching. I'm very excited about becoming a teacher. I love children and I believe that I will succeed in helping them grow.
Right now, I work at Corpus Christi Preschool. I love my job, which is a first! I basically take care of small children for four hours a day. Outside of school and work, I like to draw/paint, play guitar, travel, and just hang out with friends. I recently just purchased a 2003 MINI Cooper, and I LOVE IT! Its dark green and is a manual, which I just learned to drive two weeks ago! I have one sister who attends McGill. She is also a Junior. The rest of my family except for my dad and grandparents live here in Mobile.
Besides graduating from college, I hope to eventually get married (hopefully to my current boyfriend, we'll see how that goes!) and raise a family. I also want to travel the world. I've been to many cities in Switzerland, Paris, and London. It was absolutely amazing and I'm really looking forward to going back. I'm taking German right now, just so I can communicate better with certain Europeans!
More random stuff: I just turned 21 on Aug4th, that was an absolute BLAST! My MINI was my present to myself, haha. I'm a Leo and my favorite color is light blue. I also have naturally curly hair. I don't eat RED meat. I love movies and books. I'm looking forward to this year and I know it's going to be a good one!
Thanx for reading about me :)
